Lillian Palmer Clark 97 of Heritage Acres died there Saturday born October 26 1885 in Paton Iowa resided Cedar Rapids area since 1907 married Marshall Edgar Clark in 1909 in Cedar Rapids he died in 1945. Survivors include two sons a daughter three grandchildren five great grandchildren three great great grandchildren. Services 10 30 a m Tuesday at Turner Chapel East burial Oak Hill Cemetery visitation today and Tuesday.

Jowayne L Davis will be honored at Turner Chapel West with burial at Linwood Cemetery and American Legion services. Hazel May Langton will be remembered at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Annie M Wachal and Pauline M Wieck have services scheduled at Murdoch and Turner chapels respectively with related burials and visitations. A memorial fund and donations to charities are noted.

Pool dedication honors Jim Gilchrist at Central YMCA

The Central Branch YMCA pool was formally dedicated as the Jim Gilchrist Pool on Sunday. Cheryle Mitralsky presented a plaque to Gilchrist's widow, honoring a coach who led YMCA teams to 18 state titles, nine North Central championships, and two national championships from 1947 to 1973.

Grande Dame of the Cello Shines at Paramount

Zara Nelsona returned after 25 years as guest artist with the Cedar Rapids Symphony conducted by Christian Tiemeyer. She delivered Dvorak Cello Concerto with virtuosic depth while the Bartok Concerto for Orchestra showcased the orchestra and conductor from memory. The program repeats tonight at 8:00.
