Prosecutor links 2021 Iowa City killing to cold revenge
Johnson County prosecutors presented an opening that Renard Winfield Jr. hunted Tommy Curry in April 2021 as revenge for an earlier shooting. Curry, lured via a dating app, was shot in a Meadow Lark parking lot while waiting for a woman he believed to be real. Evidence includes shell casings, blue-tip bullets, a white Dodge Journey linked to Winfield, and a planned past attack, with witnesses and store video tying Winfield to the crime.
