Three Testify in Wedelstedt Case in Cedar Rapids
In Cedar Rapids federal court on Tuesday and Wednesday, three co conspirators testified against Edward J Wedelstedt the 35 year old Cedar Rapids businessman charged with receiving stolen adult films from Chicago in 1974 and transporting them to Iowa The witnesses described the heist of about 800 to 1 000 films from Cameo Sales as Wedelstedt planned and profited from the theft while state and federal prosecutors pursued the conspiracy charge The defense argued Wedelstedt did not know of the plan yet prosecutors stressed his awareness the films were hot and intended for sale The number and value of films remain disputed with potential federal implications due to the 5000 threshold
