A man shot by law enforcement after a 33 mile high speed chase near here remained in critical condition at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Charles Arthur Ogilvie, 30, of Wyoming Minnesota, was wounded in the leg at 10:30 p.m. Monday when he allegedly ran a roadblock at the intersection of highways 114 and 92.
The Commerce Department said the Index of Leading Indicators dropped 0.2 percent in July, the third straight decline and the longest skid since 1974 75. Analysts warned of a softer outlook for jobs and production, while noting six of ten indicators fell and four rose.
