View from the back reveals hidden library history
Fire escapes frame the county office building and the public library alley side. A stained glass window dedicated February 2, 1907 to Ada Van Vechten honors her work in founding a free library. It cost about $1,000, was moved in 1952, and now sits behind plexiglass with a lily motif reflecting her outdoors love.
