Edward H. Wiegman, retired Swift and Co. employee and Cedar Rapids resident, died Wednesday in a local nursing home. Born October 30, 1895 in Chicago, he leaves a daughter Caryl Robinson of Cedar Rapids and three brothers George of Fox Lake Illinois Frederick of Chicago and Arthur Wiegman of Florida. Body to be taken to Ahlgrim funeral home Elmhurst Illinois for services at 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial is planned.
Local arrangements are led by Turner Chapel East for services at Concordia Cemetery Elmhurst with due coordination for burial rites and interment schedule.
Charles J. Hlubucek, 75, of 1210 Third Street SE, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday at University Hospitals Iowa City after a short illness. Born October 15, 1896 in Zamberk, Czechoslovakia, he came to the United States in 1912 and worked with his father at Cedar Rapids Hat Works before later employment with Collins Radio. Survived by brother T. B. Hlubucek, Cedar Rapids, and sister Marie Melichar, Zamberk. Services Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Kuba Funeral Home East. cremation to follow. calls after 1 p.m. Friday at Kuba Funeral Home East.
Ruth Miskimen of age 78 died Thursday in Fort Myers Florida. She was formerly of Cedar Rapids where she lived until 1959 and was active in the Cedar Rapids Eastern Star chapter and past queen of the Daughters of the Nile. No immediate area survivors.
