Wilbur Erickson, president of the Federal Land Bank, says long term farming credit rose in 1971 and will likely keep growing. He spoke to about 100 directors and fieldmen in Cedar Rapids, noting lower rates spurred adoption of long term lending and balance in debt. The Omaha Land Bank lent $98 million in the year ended June 20, boosting outstanding to a record $926 million. He also outlined Farm Credit Act of 1971 provisions to modernize the system, including loan limits, rural housing loans, and member-borrower services.
