AMF workers ratify two year contract extension
AMF employees at the Des Moines plant ratified a two year extension with United Auto Workers Local 562. The agreement keeps wages at about 14 dollars an hour including benefits and provides a 35 cent raise next Wednesday. About 250 union members are on layoff.

Two Teen Girls Involve in Waucoma Crash on Highway 193
Jodi Bodensteiner, 17, and Jean Schmitt, 16, were in a two vehicle collision on Highway 193 about 1.5 miles north of Waucoma Saturday night. Bodensteiner crossed the center line, the cars veered into the west ditch. Bodensteiner rolled, both drivers were treated and released from area hospitals.
