North Korea says Yank seeks asylum after crossing DMZ
North Korea claims an American soldier crossed the DMZ and asked for political asylum. The UN command in Seoul says the report may be correct, identifying Pvt. Joseph T. White of St. Louis, Missouri. The case marks a rare 17 year lapse since a U.S. defection to North Korea.

Begin Says PLO Beaten as Syria Tu rns to Leave Lebanon
