President Nixon has long distrusted the press and his hostility peaked amid the Watergate crisis. In a tense news conference he argued the media rather than Watergate itself was undermining his ability to govern, signaling a deepening rift with reporters and questions about fairness.
Edward C. Doyle, 2355 Blake Boulevard SE, was elected vice-president of the Junior Achievement car of directors for 1971 74 term. Other officers include Edward J. Bock as vice-president Owen J. Trainor Jr secretary and Robert Blythe as treasurer. Doyle serves on loan committee of Town Bankers Assn and on the business consumer bureau of the Chamber of Commerce. He is treasurer of Public Health Nursing and past fund drive chairman of Junior Achievement which began its ninth year in Cedar Rapids in July.

Huang of Timken Mercy Hospital Canton Ohio reports at an American Chemical Society meeting that there is no proof that low blood cholesterol or diet saturated fat or cholesterol reduce death risk. He notes unsaturated fats may raise concerns and that a cholesterol supplement to saturated fat could benefit longevity more in men, with women already living longer. Huang suggests up to seven eggs weekly may not harm health, contradicting earlier guidance to limit intake to two per week.
