Big Island Faces Tropical Storm Hone Warning and Fire Risks
Tropical Storm Hone nears Hawaii's Big Island with winds up to 65 mph and a forecast to strengthen. Red flag warnings for leeward sides persist as drier conditions and strong downslope winds raise wildfire danger amid memories of Lahaina's 2023 blaze. Officials warned residents to take precautions while forecasts call for 5 to 10 inches of rain in eastern regions and gusts up to 60 mph.
