About 700 Penick and Ford union workers remained off the job on Tuesday as a wage dispute stretched into a second day. The union seeks a seven cent hourly wage increase and has rejected a company offer of a one cent raise plus other benefits.

Marvin Dye aged 60 of 1334 C street died at his home Monday. Survived by wife a daughter Mrs Edward Schott of Cedar Rapids a son William in the army at Moody air base Georgia five sisters and a brother. Body to Mrs Mata Montour’s home at St Olaf for services Thursday at 2 p.m. Burial in Pleasant Grove cemetery McGregor.
Fred T. Whiting 62 of Knoxville and vice president of Westinghouse Electric drowned on a fishing trip to British Columbia. Services will be held in Chicago Wednesday.
