Donald Meyers Attempts Death By Own Action In County Jail
Donald Meyers a 19 year old county jail prisoner slashed his left arm with a safety razor Sunday night in his cell. Officers said the wound was not serious and Meyers was returned to his cell from St Luke’s hospital about an hour later. Coggon Man Fined on Drunk Driving Charge

Cedar Rapids Gas Main Plan Nears Start With Belt Line
The Cedar Rapids city council approved nearly 10 miles of gas main installation by the Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric Company and set a meeting with utility officials to plan street repairs. The project includes 52,125 feet of 4 1/4 inch line and 10,161 feet of smaller pipe across numerous streets, with six miles of feeders, all part of a belt line to improve distribution in west and northeast Cedar Rapids and Marion.
