Cedar Rapids to swap for old federal courthouse site
The Cedar Rapids City Council will formalize a swap with the GSA exchanging ownership of the former federal courthouse at 101 First St. S for the land of the new federal courthouse. The city bought the new site in 2005 for 1.3 million and spent 745 thousand to prepare it. The GSA repaired flood damage to the old courthouse at the agency's cost, about 7.2 million.
