IDOT Tables Highway 30 Proposal for More Study

Iowa officials pause on Highway 30 upgrade from Highway 13 to Mount Vernon and Lisbon amid questions about bypasses. The staff favors a four lane divided upgrade to Mount Vernon and an undivided four lane into Lisbon, with a future bypass option estimated at 17 million versus 9.4 million for the core plan. Local residents oppose bypasses, arguing limited time savings and economic impact. The commission will study alignment with the Commercial Network of Highways before deciding.
