Wilson Foods seeks alternatives to takeover by Doskocil
Wilson Foods Corp officials say they are in intensive discussions with several parties about alternatives to a Doskocil takeover. Options include sale, recapitalization, acquisitions, or a mix, while the board says Doskocil’s $12.50 a share offer is inadequate. Doskocil may extend the bid if not enough stock is tendered. Wilson has not named other bidders, though ConAgra and Tyson Foods are mentioned by sources. ConAgra, Tyson, and Wilson all have various meat and pork operations and contracts in play.
