Voyager 2 nears Saturn with eerie storms and Enceladus interest
NASA's Voyager 2, closing in on Saturn, reports pin wheel storms in the planet's atmosphere and close looks at 17 known moons. Enceladus stands out as potentially active with bright surface and few craters, likely heated by tidal forces and possibly feeding Saturn's E ring. The craft completes a 63,000 mile flyby planned for 10:45 p.m. CDT, with data arriving later due to distance.
