Cinema Week Brings Laughs and Stars to Local Theaters

Cinema goers have a varied week ahead with Ann Sothern and Gene Raymond in Walking On Air at the Iowa theater next Friday. Paramount features The Texas Rangers with Fred MacMurray Jack Oakie and Jean Parker offering a mix of drama and comedy. A double feature, Three Cheers for Love and The Crime of Dr Forbes, shows Tuesday at the Paramount, followed by Robert Montgomery in Piccadilly Jim at the State next Saturday.

Completely redecorated Danceland announces its 1936 37 season opening September 3 under Manager Frank Brookhiser. Paramount theater presents two features on Tuesday with Three Cheers for Love as the top hit and The Crime of Dr. Forbes starring Gloria Stuart and Robert Kent as the second major feature. The program includes Swing-Along dances by Eleanore Whitney and Robert Cummings set to Robin and Rainger tunes, with new swing rhythms and songs such as Where Is My Heart Long Ago and Far Away and The Swing Tap.
