Rural Solon man charged with defrauding two elderly women
John D. Viggos, 39, of Route 4 Solon, faces a Linn County second degree theft complaint for taking cash from two elderly women for nursing home and other insurance policies he did not provide. The 80 and 77 year olds paid $492 and $258.60. The license to act as an insurance agent was revoked and no policy was issued. Viggos to appear in court to waive or demand a preliminary hearing. The charge is a class D felony with up to five years in prison and a possible $1,000 fine.

Ironies mark death probe no charges in Cedar Rapids case
Linn County officials released details of the Aug 10 accident in which 3 year old Chevyl Dahl died after running into a city garbage truck.
