Burlington observatory hosts NASA’s Jim Green for 30th telescope anniversary
Burlington celebrates 30 years with the 12 inch Alvan Clark and Sons telescope at the John H. Witte Observatory. NASA scientist Jim Green, a Burlington native and former Burlington High School graduate, returns to town to speak and tour schools. Green credits early Iowa chemistry teacher Don Vinson and Dr James Van Allen for his path to space science.

The Hawk A Model A Ford Club from Eastern Iowa will stop at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Museum and Library in West Branch around 2 30 p m Saturday to display up to 20 Model A cars. Cars stay in the museum lot until about 4 30 p m and the public may view them and chat with owners.
