Tax credits fund Cedar Rapids historic renovations
Cedar Rapids uses a two step lease scheme to qualify for historic tax credits for the Paramount and the former federal courthouse. The city leases buildings to Courthouse II LLC and a parallel entity, then facilitates private investment to secure five year tax credits, after which leases disappear and buildings revert to city ownership.
