Historic tax credits fund Cedar Rapids renovation projects
Work has begun to restore two flood damaged city buildings, the Paramount Theatre and the former federal courthouse to become City Hall. Federal historic preservation tax credits from Reagan era programs are providing about 9 million dollars for the 35 million dollar theatre renovation and about 3.5 million for the 19 million courthouse conversion. City manager Jeff Pomeranz says the credits allow improvements the city otherwise could not fund.

Iowa pays former administrator as medical campus adviser
Gordon Williams, 66, moves from chief of operations at US Health Care to a 0.365 position as confidential adviser to Dr. Williams Robillard, Iowa's vice president for medical affairs. A May 10 contract sets Williams at 15 047 dollars monthly for 90 days starting July 1 with no benefits and potential three month extensions. Robillard called Williams a tremendous asset.
