Budget cuts loom as Iowa Braille school warns of more
Dennis Thurman, superintendent at the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School in Vinton, urges parents to press legislators against further cuts. The district has trimmed 270000 to 340000 from a 41 million budget, with staff reductions and shorter hours. 21 positions were cut or reduced, affecting both on campus and outreach programs serving 600 students statewide.
