Can Shed app launches to ease Iowa bottle returns
Can Shed adds BottleDrop Iowa to its program, allowing customers to drop off aluminum and plastic containers via an app at four redemption sites in Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, Marion and Iowa City, with Manchester lacking the update. The system mirrors BottleDrop Oregon and follows a 2023 Iowa law update raising handling fees from 1 to 3 cents per container. Willard notes kombucha is now covered and reports steady early growth as awareness grows.
