Inga Tapper 95 Receives Life Policy Cash Value
Inga Tapper, longtime Polk Elementary principal in Cedar Rapids from 1924 to 1956, turned 95 in 1980 and received a check for the cash value of a Mutual of Omaha life policy begun in 1921. Insurance agent Liz Young noted it was unusual to hold a policy to cash value at that age. Tapper, born December 27, 1884, moved to Iowa in 1897 and built a career in education, earning degrees from Coe College and the University of Iowa.
