Venetian Night Parade Returns to Cedar Rapids Harbor
Cedar Boat Club revives the Venetian Night lighted boat parade along Ellis Harbor and the Cedar River amid the town’s Year of the River celebration. Jim Kaas led the revival after the 1983 end and the 2008 flood reshaped plans, with a 2009 event held under flood cleanup restrictions.

Ely 11 year old Na than Sweet finished 13th in the junior division at the Pokemon Trading Card Game World Championships in Kona Hawaii. He was among 375 players from nearly 25 countries in the invitation only event and earned a $1000 scholarship plus over $250 in prizes after advancing to the top 16 following a strong first round.
