Cemetery in front yard sparks anger among relatives
In Dewar Iowa the Buehler family built a house on land once a cemetery. Relatives of those buried fear desecration as 14 to 30 bodies reportedly remain. They urge the county to reclaim and restore cemetery status, while the couple proposes access, a marker, and no excavation. County supervisors delay a decision for at least a month.

Heart transplant a miracle for Cherokee man in Iowa City
Bill Frandsen of Cherokee received a heart after a 35 week wait at Iowa City. His daughter Jean Shadeland called it a miracle as the donor heart, from a youth about 15, arrived after multiple heart attacks. The family learned of the transplant during a weekend visit. Frandsen began waking from anesthesia and his recovery started as plans were made to move him to the cardiac ICU.
