Drop Charges Of Kidnapping Against Four
Charges of kidnapping and assault were dropped against four Atlantic men after the victim, Mark Campbell aged 19, refused to testify at a preliminary hearing. The case stemmed from an August incident in which Campbell said he was driven near Chariton, stripped, tied to a fence post, and had yellow paint and black ink poured on him. Investigators cited lack of physical evidence returned from the Des Moines state crime lab as another factor in the dismissal. The defendants were James Hayes 23, Mark McCutchen 21, Darrell Biggow 25, and Thomes Auerbach 28.

Inmate Recaptured After Escape From Fort Madison Farm
Robert Cloke a 33 year old inmate from Birmingham Town walked away from a Fort Madison work crew Saturday. He was spotted in Keokuk around 9 30 p m and taken back into custody Sunday. Cloke is serving a 10 year sentence for breaking and entering and was on a prison farm when he disappeared.

What Cheer Man Dies in Crash In Iowa County
