Wandering dachshund spurs village tale ends with trade

A Cedar Rapids town tale follows George Corey who buys a long dachshund for Mrs. Corey. The dog wanders through yards, triggers a mix up with a caller claiming it is hers, and the dog is traded back to its owner, costing Corey a box of candy for the information. The piece shifts to a sequence of humorous local sketches involving townsfolk, pets, and light misadventures at the All Iowa Fair and nearby scenes.
