Third Time No Charm for Alcohol Unit
The Linn County Health center faced a stalled CCA budget request of 14 740 dollars as state POS funds for residential care end. Fred Uphoff said 54 000 dollars in POS last year drops to 40 000 this year, forcing a deficit without Health center support. Health center board member Beth Reed moved to table the request for two weeks while an agreement of cooperation and budget details were reviewed. The center awaits action at the next board meeting, with United Way already supporting the CCA. Mae West is 84 and John Hay Whitney is 73 today.
