Sokol hall hosted a reception by local Czech organizations for Dr. Alice Masaryk daughter of the late Thomas Masaryk first president of Czech oslovakia. Hundreds of guests greeted her between 3 and 5 pm and an all-Czechoslovakian menu was served. Escort for the afternoon included Mrs. Thomas Suchomel and Dr. Anna Heyberger of Coe College.

Deborah guild hosts shower for Clare Nichols wedding

Debor ah guild of First Presbyterian church hosted a reception and miscellaneous shower for Clare Nichols and Andrew Peter sen at the home of Lottie Howell 1724 Second Ave SE. Mrs Frank Wells led the serving table with garden flowers yellow tapers and umbrellas. Miss Jennie Robinson prepared verses for each gift.
