Johnson County barn tour highlights rural architectural heritage
A Johnson County Historical Society tour of six historic barns is set for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 30 p.m. Executive director Margaret Wieting says the event teaches rural roots and the architectural variety of farm buildings from 1800s carriage houses to a 1905 barn still in use. The tour ends at Dick Schwab's home where he will discuss round barns and preservation.
