Delay in opening Iowa Historical Museum shifts exhibits plan
Iowa officials delay the opening of the $27 million State Historical Building to December 7 to complete two major exhibits on the first floor and ready library and archives facilities. The plan expands from a 5,000 square foot natural history display to a 20,000 square foot “From Attic to Basement” exhibit with artifacts in storage, while permanent second-floor exhibits arrive next June.
