Marion officials prepare for the final reading of an ordinance restricting pets at public events including Hot August Nights. The measure would ban animals within 100 feet of food vendors and crowd areas, with some exemptions and venue considerations. A separate work session will review a district effectiveness survey for teachers at 7 p.m. in the administrative boardroom.
