Robins mayor vetoes 18 age cigarette sales rule
Robins Mayor Randy Fouts vetoed a city council resolution barring cigarette sales by anyone under 18. He argued the rule imposes undue burdens on retailers and that 16 year olds can already sell beer and tobacco products in Iowa. The veto, signed Aug. 7, leaves Petro-N-Provisions’s permit intact and not subject to the restriction.
