Inmate sues over gender barred program at Iowa facility
Charlotte Noor, a 29 year old inmate at the Iowa Women's Reformation, sues state officials in Southern District Court alleging unequal access to the Aide Program at Oakdale's Iowa Security Medical Facility. She was admitted Feb 1 for evaluation and treatment and claims the program’s exclusion of women violates the 14th Amendment. The filing notes Noor’s 10 year term for child stealing and requests equal protection in privileges. The report recalls 1973 as the year U.S. combat in Indochina ended after 12 years.
