Andy Williams Tour Opens In Iowa Five Seasons Center
Dee Ann Rexroat reviews Andy Williams new tour at the Five Seasons Center in Cedar Rapids. The show clocks under two hours with a 17 piece band and four young singer-dancers plus a female vocalist. It follows Williams career with hits, standards, and movie tunes, featuring a mock recording session and a movie theme segment with Moon River and The Days of Wine and Roses. The production feels self conscious in a large arena, but the Cedar Rapids Washington High School Concert Choir adds gospel and patriotic numbers to bridge the gap.

Mumps outbreak prompts push for vaccination in Iowa
DES MOINES AP The worst mumps outbreak in a decade has health officials urging vaccination for those unprotected. Through July Iowa logged about four times 1986 year total, with 371 cases reported as an outbreak spread from northern to southern counties.
