Hearst Not Subpoenaed For Pennsylvania Grand Jury Testimony
U S attorney says authorities have no immediate plans to bring Patricia Hearst to Scranton to testify before a federal grand jury about hiding near South Canaan in 1974. He said she has not been subpoenaed to appear at any time and plans to arrange a meeting on the West Coast. Hearst, 23, was convicted of armed bank robbery in March.

Portuguese Army Frees Former President Spinola From Prison
The Portuguese Army released former President Gen Antonio de Spinola after two days of questioning. Spinola, exile returnee, led Portugal briefly as provisional president during the revolution and later fled to Brazil after a 1975 right wing coup. The army cited insufficient evidence linking him to the coup but kept an investigation into his ties with the rightist exile group the Portuguese Democratic Liberation Movement.
