Five Dysart Folk Injured When Car Upsets Near City

Five people from Dysart were injured when a car driven by Ruth Brandt 39 upset in a ditch along highway 30 west of Cedar Rapids after passing a truck. Passengers Betty Alters 14 La Vonne Palmer 15 and Jane Brandt 9 plus Gertie Alters suffered head abrasions and bruises. Howard McMurray 27 of Tama, driver of the truck, said the cars collided as Brandt cut back to the right. he swerved to avoid them.

Two In Car Halted On Highway Bruised In Crash

A minor highway collision 13 miles west of Cedar Rapids on highway 30 left Mrs. Enders with a head bruise and Violet Enders with a leg bruise. Jacob B. Enders and his wife and daughter were in the stopped car when Denver H. Adams of Cedar Rapids struck from behind as two other cars passed. Investigated by Highway Patrolmen Swords and Fels.

Camp Good Health Fund Campaign Urges Donations

Camp Good Health, run by the Public Health Nursing Association in Cedar Rapids, serves physically handicapped children ages 6 to 12 from needy homes. Donations to The Gazette Camp Good Health fund are needed to cover this year’s expenses. last week’s activities included crafts and a Founders’ Day program with a Scandinavian photo feature and a Mickey Mouse Comedy reel.
