At Kennedy Space Center Florida the Space Shuttles Columbia and Atlantis moved in upright positions with Atlantis rolled from Launch Pad 39A for repair and Columbia moved to the pad for a planned launch. A thunderstorm trapped Atlantis outside the hangar delaying repairs and it was unclear if damage occurred.
Ronald Reagan says the $2 million offered by a Japanese group for two speeches was not a fee but their offer. He notes it sounds high but stresses he would not have cashed in on the presidency and would have faced healthy movie fees otherwise.
Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s, lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Some lingering showers in the south and west tomorrow, then sunny statewide.
