Passenger Liners Outstrip Cargo Ships in Aid Ratio

Passenger liners receive substantial federal aid while cargo ships outnumber them. About 160 million dollars yearly supports around 250 cargo ships, whereas ten passenger liners tied to Prudential Grace Lines and other routes received 11 to 7 million in aid per year, with total aid for passenger liners near 30 to 50 million as ship counts fall. The S S United States, despite receiving nearly 80 million over a decade, sits idle and empty.
