Osage Woman Killed. Couple Injured in Highway 21 Crash
An Osage woman died and two people were injured in a highway 21 crash west of Belle Plaine Saturday at 10 45 a m. Kathryn G Mackin 52 died as a passenger in a car driven by Charles Mackin 52 who was hospitalized in Iowa City in satisfactory condition. The Fisher truck driver Mrs Dean Fisher 24 of Chelsea faced a court appearance for failure to yield half the roadway. The three month old son Clinton Fisher suffered fractures but was unharmed in the truck seat. The Mackin car was demolished and the Fisher truck damaged. Body repatriation followed with funeral home transfers.

Thornburg couple die in apparent murder suicide
In Thornburg Keokuk county two people were found dead Saturday afternoon from gunshot wounds in their home. Villa Jeanette Meehan 52 and John E. Meehan 55 were killed with a .32 caliber revolver found on his chest. A two year old granddaughter witnessed the event and the wife was to be taken for medical research. Funeral plans for Mr Meehan were set in What Cheer.
