Infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Post died at 2 20 a m in a Cedar Rapids hospital. Survivors include three brothers and two sisters. Grandparents live in Cedar Rapids Mechanicsville and other areas. Graveside services were held at Cedar Memorial with Rev. Frank Ward.
John W. Hynek 71 of route 2 died after a long illness. A retired carpenter and lifelong Linn county resident born near Swisher March 31, 1886, he leaves his wife Anna, two daughters Mrs. William Dohnalek and Mrs. Charles Clemons, a son Adolph J., a sister Mrs Wesley Cerveny, and a brother Joseph. Services at Brush Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday conducted by Theodore B. Hlubu cek. burial in Czech National. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday.
Elsie Anna Riley died at her Cedar Rapids home on Johnson avenue NW at 1 p.m. Thursday after a lingering illness. Born January 20 1870 in Bangor New York she married in Cedar Rapids September 1 1887. Her husband died in 1930. Surviving are two daughters Mrs Edwin M Keyes Evans ton Illinois and Mrs Edward L Nazerka Cedar Rapids. Services will be at Barta Hesser chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev R F Galloway of the Presbyterian church. Burial at Oak Hill. Friends may call at the chapel.
Edwin C. Knight of Santa Cruz California died Thursday while traveling through Cedar Rapids. Born June 6 1892 in Killingly Connecticut he married Anna Law on December 8 1912 in Danielson Connecticut. Survived by wife two sons Jack of Santa Cruz and Arthur of San Jose and a brother James in Connecticut. The body will be taken from the funeral home.

In Philadelphia a police search of a west Philadelphia home led Patrolman Charles Stitt to drink from a water tap in a laundry tub. The water pipe proved to connect to a buried 25 gallon drum two thirds full of white whisky, ending the officers' search.
The Agriculture Department boosted Iowa's 1957 corn crop projection to 577,239,000 bushels from July's 535,731,000, signaling a rise of about 55 million bushels over last year if August figures hold. Cedar Rapids resident Marion C. LeVelle, 33, pled guilty to a drunken driving charge. He was fined 300 dollars and may pay 50 dollars monthly. Police stopped him Thursday night after witnesses saw his panel truck on Mt. Vernon road SE near Nineteenth street. Judge Charles Penningroth allowed the installments.
Cedar Rapids 18 year old Jimmy L Eyerly has until 9 a.m. next to enter a plea in district court to a car theft charge. The alleged theft involved a vehicle owned by 17 year old Donn C Gordon who reported his car keys pants and billfold missing. An attorney was appointed to represent Eyerly at state expense.
