Cedar Rapids foundation marks 75 years with mural unveiling
The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation celebrated 75 years by christening a mural on its building during a Wednesday Block Party. The event crowned two days of festivities with a second day offering free admission to local arts organizations such as the African American Museum of Iowa and the Granger House Museum.

UIHC to pay 1.2M after missed diagnosis
The University of Iowa Health Care will pay 1.2 million to the parents of Emma Nugent, a 17 year old Iowa City High School senior who died in July 2020 after several providers mis diagnosed her pulmonary embolism as COVID. The settlement is part of a new claim coverage agreement limiting UIHC per claim to 6 million and per year to 15 million. Nugent collapsed at home while preparing for senior pictures after weeks of symptoms. Although she never tested positive for COVID, doctors repeatedly diagnosed her with suspected COVID while noting possible blood clots linked to Gianvi.
