Incumbents Likely to Seek Re election in Cedar Rapids City Race
Four of five Cedar Rapids City Council members plan to run again in the November election. Mayor Don Canney, 56, says he will probably seek a 10th term. Finance Commissioner Hal Schaefer also plans another council term and Floyd Bergen aims to return as public safety commissioner. Wayne Murdock will announce his bid for a fifth two year term, and Parks Commissioner David Kramer is seeking a second term. Petitions require signatures and a potential October primary if more than two candidates file for an office.
