Ice Age Had Little Snow Says CLIMAP Study
The CLIMAP project challenges the view that heavy snowfall drove the last ice age. Ice sheets grew rapidly 80,000 years ago but global precipitation 18,000 years ago was about 15 percent lower, with ocean cooling modest and land warming changes substantial. A dry global climate and a low sea level of roughly 300 feet reshaped land access between North America and Asia.

Lost Mine of Solomon Found in Saudi Arabia
The fabled Ophir site between Mecca and Medina is reported by geologists to be Mahd adh Dhahab in Saudi Arabia. A joint USGS Saudi study supports the site as a biblical Ophir candidate, with potential to yield substantial gold today. A company has applied for a permit to resume mining at Mahd adh Dhahab.
