Iowa study tests best practices for summer reading programs
Forty four Iowa districts including Cedar Rapids joined a $1.9 million study to identify the most effective methods for summer reading programs. The research supports the 2018 literacy law requiring nonproficient third graders to repeat the grade or attend summer classes, amid debate on funding and implementation.
