Minnesota court ruling favors Hormel strikers
The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled 6-0 that Geo. A. Hormel strikers were eligible for unemployment benefits as of May 23, 1986. It overturned a November Court of Appeals decision delaying benefits until Sept. 12, 1986, and said the strike ended when the union offered to return. The decision means Hormel must cover about 1.5 million in paid benefits to 600 workers.
