Federal Home Loan Bank Board bars Peter Bezanson from any role in United Security Savings Bank as part of the joint MorAmerica Financial Corp plan. The 15 page resolution excludes Bezanson and his son in law Jerry Maples from the new thrift while allowing a MorAmerica management consultant fee of 40000 dollars annually. MorAmerica and Morris Plan Co. of Iowa filed for Chapter 11 on August 30 1985.

Riles plans appeal of nine guilty verdicts

A new Iowa study reports 14,600 homeless residents across all 99 counties, nearly a third of them children. The data, released by the Iowa Department of Education, cites unemployment, family problems and lack of low income housing as key causes and includes people on streets, in cars, shelters, or doubling up with others. Polk County has the most homeless at 1,963, followed by Scott 1,586 and Johnson 1,525.
