An unknown sum of money and a pistol were stolen from the American Farm Store in Oelwein after attackers breached a back door. Drugs recovered after theft at Readlyn doctor's office

Vinton man injured as truck overturns on highway
James Foote 31 of Cedar Falls suffered minor injuries when his truck overturned on U.S. Highway 218 south of Vinton. The crash blocked the highway for hours while cargo wire was cleared. Foote was treated and released. charged with failure to have control. Damaged value of the truck not available.
